Nordstrom’s pay bill sparked outrage when it became clear that some of the company’s employees weren’t getting paid despite the fact that their paychecks were actually being processed.
A company spokesman released the following statement, via The Huffington Post:We appreciate all of our customers who were not paying their bills on time and are working hard to improve.
We’re continuing to work to make sure that all of those impacted by this incident are compensated for their time and effort.
We also have begun to address other payment issues and are continuing to monitor them.
The pay bill also included a note that the company was “taking steps to ensure that all pay is paid on time.”
The company said that the payment process would be reviewed.
The company has also hired a third-party financial auditor to audit the payment issues.
